A Candid Engagement in Jackson Hole

Phil, Meg, and a Candid Proposal | Jackson Hole Engagement Photography

As some of you may know… I have a pretty bomb second shooter and assistant.  Over the years we’ve grown really close to the Herberts, and it’s a total privilege to have Natalie on board.  She had the privilege, herself, of capturing this awesome proposal at Phelps Lake in Jackson, and I decided it would be best if she told the story herself…

“Hi, I’m Natalie Herbert. I am Adam’s second shooter, and help him photograph most of his weddings in Jackson. Maybe you know me!

On July 22nd, I had the privilege of being an incognito photographer for two very good friends as they got engaged here in Jackson Hole, WY. Phil proposed to Meg at Phelps Lake in beautiful Grand Teton National Park on a perfect summer morning. The inlet at Phelps Lake carries a lot of significance for the couple, being the place where Meg caught her first fish under Phil’s instruction—fishing being a common passion that the two share in the Jackson Hole area.

Meg was under the impression that she was taking Lauren (our friend) and I fishing and that Phil was unable to come because of work. We enjoyed a leisurely two mile hike out to the lake, during which I took several shots, because I like doing that. I documented most of the morning with Meg being completely unaware of the future significance of the photos. Once we got to the lake, Meg saw a man standing out at the inlet. After a bit, she figured out that it was Phil and that she was about to get engaged! The rest was history, and we all had fun celebrating with an afternoon of fishing and enjoying the outdoors. It was an honor to be able to capture these moments and take part in this major event in Meg and Phil’s lives. Best of wishes to them both and I can’t wait for their wedding next month!”

What a total blessing.  Congratulations to both of you!
