Rachel and Ryan, Elk Refuge Wedding | Jackson Hole Wedding Photographer

I don’t think I’ve ever finished covering a wedding feeling the way I felt when we finished up this one.  This wedding was nice and simple, in terms of schedule, decorations, etc.  But what really made this wedding so unique was the content of the schedule.  Some of you know, we’re expecting a daughter here actually what seems like any day now (maybe not, we’re due in late October but she’s measuring pretty big.  We make big children).   There were many things that transpired throughout the day that I would want for my own kids weddings – from the returning of purity rings, to all the love and prayer from close family and friends that saturated every moment – it was a total blast.

I also showed up surprised at how many guests and members of the bridal party I knew, and even more surprised (in a good way) of how much everyone trusted Natalie and I to do our thing.  Everything turned out amazing.

A quick note about the venue – Ryan and Rachel were able to have their wedding out at the Elk Refuge on private ranch property.  This is a great area for broad views of the Jackson Hole landscape, including the Tetons, especially when there is good visibility.

Congratulations, you two.  Thanks for having us out.
