From time to time I get the honor of providing photography coverage for weddings outside of Jackson Hole and the Rocky Mountain Range. It’s usually a shock to my system – what, with all the Walmarts, Targets, Chick-fil-A’s… All the modern amenities, with modern people, and all their modern ways. The ocean. Using the interstates again. Finding out skinny jeans might be going out of style. and HEY. I love it! This wedding in particular was extra unique. Matt is actually my dear wife’s cousin, you see. I was able to bring my entire family of four all the way across America. We had a blast meeting extended family and really experiencing a slice of the South.

There’s so much history in South Carolina – I feel like we barely even scratched the surface. Matt and Katie had some incredibly stunning and historic areas in Charleston picked out for their newly wed portraits, and their intentionality in scheduling and planning paid off entirely.

Strongly done, Matt and Katie. Strongly done, the South. I know we would love to get back to South Carolina some day. Check back for more in a couple of days.
